<strong>Mechanical Engineer </strong><ul><li>Start Date: Subject to visa approval</li><li>Duration: 12 months </li><li>Rotation: 28/28</li><li>El Merk, Algeria </li></ul>Reporting to the Chef Service Engineering (Engineering Team Lead), the role is responsible for mechanical design and detailed engineering activities, including piping, pipeline, static and rotating equipment. The position provides engineering support at the assigned site location ensuring compliance with company standards, industry codes and operational requirements. <br> <br> Major Duties and Principle Areas:<br> • Demonstrate solid experience in mechanical, piping and pipeline engineering design in the oil and gas industry, preferably with a reputable oil and gas company / engineering consultancy / EPC contractor.<br> • Supports piping, pipeline, mechanical (static and rotating equipment) engineering needs across the Upstream Facilities organization.<br> • Conducts detailed technical evaluations to resolve issues in collaboration with engineering consultants, operations and maintenance team.<br> • Performs routine engineering work independently and address complex problems with the guidance of Engineering Team Lead and Engineering Manager.<br> • Provides technical assistance to Root Cause Failure Analysis teams.<br> • Review project and engineering contractor deliverables to ensure compliance with project specifications, design practices, company standards, and best engineering practices. <br> • Deliverables may include P&IDs, piping arrangements, piping material specifications, pipeline engineering deliverables, stress analysis reports, specification and data sheet for static equipment (pressure vessel, package equipment and storage tank) and rotating equipment (pump and compressor), vendor proposals, and technical studies.<br> • Participates in design reviews, risk assessments, HAZOPs, vendor qualification, and vendor bid evaluations (TBE).<br> • Supports functional initiatives and maintains discipline documentation in line with Company (GB) standards. <br> • Develop engineering and project scope of works, ensuring deliverables comply with the applicable codes, standards, statutory and corporate requirements. <br> • Act as technical authority for Company (GB) in the mechanical engineering discipline, providing technical leadership and approval across design/engineering, fabrication, construction, inspection & testing, installation, commissioning & start-up.<br> • Support other GB departments including Operation, Production, Maintenance, HSE etc.<br> • Ensure design integrity during fabrication through proper handling of site queries and proper application of QA/QC processes.<br> • Familiar with Factory acceptance testing (FAT) requirements, procedure development and approval.
