Manager Assurance (QA/QC Manager)

Job Overview:

  • Directly responsible for verifying product quality and performance Quality at all stages of the project,
  • Liaise with Project Manager/ Director, PMT Functional Managers, Operations Managers (Fab/Marine), Lead Engineers, QAQC Functional leads, Certifying Authority & Client and supervise Principal Quality Ops Specialist, Senior Assurance Specialists, Senior Quality Ops Tech (VIC)

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the Project Quality Plan, based on Project contract documents and Project Execution Plan identifying unique project requirements.
  • Initiate Quality Planning for the project to assure compliance to all contractual requirements through proactive and preventive measures.
  • Provide quality costing input requirements into the bid process
  • Responsible for Project QA/QC Quality Team setup and ensure that adequate, competent resources are available to meet project requirements. Support PMT in set-up process.
  • Actively participate in the contract review to identify "key factors for success" and identify issues and concerns. Conduct internal quality kick off meeting(s) to ensure project quality requirements are effectively communicated across all disciplines in the PMT and Operations groups.
  • Attend weekly Project meetings (internal & external), coordination with client on all Quality matters and resolving Quality issues on project.
  • Responsible for preparing the project audit schedule in line with the Project Execution Plans, Contract requirements and subsequently, organize / execute quality audits and ensure non-conformities (NCR/ OF!) are closed in a timely manner.
  • Actively contribute to the continual improvement process based on trends emerging from audits, Pefformance Quality data and Root Cause Analysis findings.
  • Assess the capability of Suppliers and subcontractors on a periodic basis and ensure that the Suppliers meet project requirements.
  • Ensure that a robust change management system is in place for all phases of the project, by which any change both internal and external are identified and mitigated at the outset.
  • During project closeout, the Manager Assurance shall oversee the as-built project certification, project close out report and capture Lessons learned.
  • Provide effective communication and co-ordination with McDermott internal depaåments and offsite teams.
  • Manage allocated project QA/QC budget and time bookings and ensure actual costs are within budget.
  • Participate in meetings with the client and internal customers and ensure that concerns are addressed in timely manner.
  • Be aware of foreseeable quality risks and implement mitigation plan.
  • Implement corporate Quality Management System in all project QA/QC activities
  • Investigating root causes of quality issues and propose solutions,
  • Implement existing QA/QC lessons learnt in project and monitoring
  • Ensure that al/ QA/QC readiness reviews are conducted in timely manner and actions are assigned to responsible person.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor's in engineering
  • Mechanical or Structural or Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent. 15+ years in Offshore & Marine Construction, QA Auditing.
