Summary – basic function of the role We are seeking a skilled HSSE Coordinator to join our team. This role will be responsible for all aspects of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment management within the facility to ensure the required standards of ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO14001 are maintained and developed as required. Job Duties and Responsibilities Management Representative for external certifications (ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001) Proactively support the organization in complying with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, ensuring compliance across all departments. Support with development and implementation of HSSEQ management systems Ensure the management review process is implemented and maintained Leading and mentoring on the effective assessment of all hazards/risks within the area of operation reducing residual risk to ALARP; all assessments to be documented with a “risk register”. Reporting and investigation of all HSSE incidents including root causes analysis as required to facilitate problem resolution as appropriate. Reporting and investigation of Customer facing nonconformance including root causes analysis as required to facilitate problem resolution as appropriate. Development and delivery of the annual HSSEQ Audit Plan including management of resulting corrective and preventative actions. Development and delivery of the annual facility HSSEQ Plans and monthly HSSEQ KPI Scorecards including measurement of achievement of the set goals and objectives. Proactively participate and deliver required HSSEQ initiatives and improvements. Develop and provide HSSEQ training and mentoring to all employees as required including new starter orientations/inductions. To always represent the organization in a professional manner, “lead by example”. Ensure a robust emergency response plan is developed, implemented, and periodically tested within the area of operation. Collation and reporting of sustainability data as required. Ensure a robust consultation and participation plan is developed, implemented, including safety committees and safety forums as required. Actively participate in facility inspections, GEMBA walks, safety tours, daily prestart discussions, etc. Drive BBS initiatives within the area of operation; including, observations, near miss reporting. Ensure a robust management of change process is implemented and maintained. Skills and Competencies Strong interpersonal skills, works and communicates well with internal colleagues and external customers. Fluent written and verbal communication skills are required. Takes full responsibility for completion of own projects. Works well with minimal supervision; self-discipline and motivation. Flexible and professional approach to work. Education and Experience 5 years plus HSSEQ experience with a NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum (diploma preferred) Recognised (CQI / IRCA) auditing qualification Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Must be self-motivated with ability to handle, organize and prioritize multiple tasks and able to perform under pressure to meet deadlines. Ability to promote joint action, cooperation, and communication to achieve results between functions for broader and more complex operation or management issues and activities.
