Sales Manager - Middle East

Our client is a Global Chemicals Manufacturer covering a broad range of end markets including plastics, consumer products, electronics, paints, packaging, personal care, food automotive and pharmaceutical.
 
Their current expansion into the Middle East has resulted in a new and exciting opportunity for a seasoned sales / business development specialist with technical knowledge to grow the business.
Key responsibility for this role will be managing customers in the Middle East for a distinct Business Unit. Management of direct customer accounts and some distributor sales as appropriate.
In addition, you will be actively engaged in implementing the direction, growth, and strategic plan of the appropriate business unit.
<b>             </b>This includes contract negotiation and management, market development, strategic positioning at a regional level with global coordination. The Work closely with customer service, R&D, supply chain and management.

<b>Responsibilities</b>
 
Primary contact for customers in the Middle East.
Achieve sales growth targets and personal goals.
Manage sales call scheduling. Some assigned accounts will be located outside of your “normal” region that will require management /coordination and possible visits; collaboration with peers is an expectation.
Joint calls with internal technical, business development, sales and BU management.
Understanding market trends and the impact on the business in the region, competitive analysis and recommendations on how to counter; clear definition of “competitive situations” is an expectation.
Execute business pricing strategy for customers and distributors in a clearly documented fashion. Pricing decisions based on properly defined data.
Monthly participation in rolling three month forecast development is a requirement; this will involve key customer contact to review upcoming three-month demand.
Negotiation of contracts and their subsequent management, by collaboration with the customer and internal leaders and legal staff.
Establish multi-level relationships with key customers (minimum three deep) and direct call activity by peers at consuming locations that are geographically impractical for personal contact.
Prospecting for new customers as a routine activity.
Entertain customer contacts as appropriate and within customer and PMC policy.
Project management for significant opportunities.
Attend sales and internal team meetings.
Attend trade shows as appropriate.


Requirements
<b>Requirements:</b>
·       University degree in business administration.
·       5+ years of sales & technical development experience in the plastics, polymers and/or chemical industries.
·       Some experience in new product development & commercialization
·       Proven ability to innovate and improve upon existing business practices.
·       Strong interpersonal skills.
·       Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and product lines.
·       Strong negotiation skills.
·       Excellent presentation skills including ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) as appropriate.
·       Ability to work with minimal supervision.
·       Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.
Travel required as appropriate for accounts; up to 50% travel but not consistently.
Ability to function effectively in a global business environment with production, technical, customer service and management.
Must be able to travel at any time to remote locations or customers.
