Role Purpose

This role will be supporting 1) the Associate Director of Operations, MENA, to drive cohesion among geographically located staff and create ownership of operations issues across the MENA region; and 2) the Global Operations leadership in the development, monitoring and implementation of key global initiatives across the Global Operations team.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Associate Director of Operations, MENA, the Operations Officer’s key responsibilities are as follows:

MENA Operations

  • Support the coordination of local requirements with local Operations Directors for all Operational activity e.g. events management, finance and cashflow management, workplace services, logistical onboarding of new starters etc.
  • Responsible (with the Director, Global Operations) for understanding local requirements and support with location specific operational questions, issues, and requirements.
  • Support the implementation and compliance of Global Operations policies and procedures in their location.
  • Support management of contracts and vendors for local outsourcing where needed to ensure alignment with global policies.
  • Support with the assurance and review of local procurement and contracts prior to signing, and administer them as needed.
  • Responsible for supporting the coordination of workplace services within their location as well as other OSF locations, including liaising with Global Safety Security Resilience team and coordinating with the Real Estates Renewal Program on the workplace improvement.

Global Operations

  • Support the Senior Director of Global Operations and Director of Service Delivery on various global projects as such health and safety global standards, sustainability initiatives, etc., by taking the work forward in some projects and working with each project lead to provide visibility into the progress of each project.
  • Assist the Director of Global Operations in setting up and monitoring key performance metrics across various workstreams of Global Operations and coordinating with staff in other operations functions on cross-operational projects.
  • Work with the Associate Directors and Operations Officers in Global Operations to support the efforts to standardize and streamline of day-to-day operational systems and processes for Global Operations.
  • Work with the Associate Director of Global Operations to support the implementation of culture transformation initiatives across OSF offices.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Educated to a degree-level (or equivalent)

Essential

Experience

  • Significant experience working at the intersection of programmatic and operational work in the non-profit sector
  • Experience with ‘generalist’ operations background within a multi-geography organization
  • Experience in working across multiple corporate service functions, ideally including experiences in promoting Culture/ DEI initiatives
  • Proven experience in collaborating with multi-country stakeholders
  • Proven project management skills and track record

Desirable

  • Prior experience of administrative support in a similar role

Functional Competencies

  • Have a basic understanding of general operations, including finance/accounting and facilities management
  • Previous experience working in a change management / transformational change focused environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly, efficiently and between audiences of varying seniorities
  • Experience managing contracts and vendor management
  • Basic understanding of local compliance and regulations
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and draw insights to inform the local operations
  • Experience managing operations projects and moving the process along with various stakeholders

Languages

  • Fluent in Arabic and a good working knowledge of English
