As a Cost Accountant at our company in Kuwait, you will be responsible for analyzing financial data and providing accurate cost information to assist in the decision-making process. Your role will involve conducting cost analysis, preparing budgets, monitoring expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual with excellent mathematical skills and a strong understanding of accounting principles. The ideal candidate should have experience in cost accounting and possess the ability to work with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting and cost control.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct cost analysis to identify areas of improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare accurate and timely budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Monitor expenses and analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, policies, and regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data for cost analysis.
- Participate in the development and implementation of cost accounting systems and procedures.
- Provide financial analysis and support to management for decision-making purposes.
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Prepare and present reports on financial performance, cost trends, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Preferred Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and cost accounting techniques.
- Proficient in financial analysis and budgeting.
- Advanced MS Excel skills and experience using accounting software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Kuwait's accounting regulations and tax laws is preferred.
