Parts Section Head - Automotive

Job Purpose

Strive to achieve a profitable return on Company investments in parts inventory. Accomplish objectives through appropriate purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, pricing, merchandising, and display. Follow up and execute the spare parts management plan to align with the company's goals, serving the company's development and sale of high-quality spare parts at competitive prices without negative impact, meeting customer needs and resolving issues.

Essential Duties

  • Forecasts goals and objectives for the parts section and strives to meet them. 
  • Prepares and administers an annual operating budget for the parts section. 
  • Maintains a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, body shop, and wholesale accounts. 
  • Coordinates with Sales distributors & Service team to understand market demands & dynamics. Identifies distributors/suppliers and conducts periodic market studies to determine required (after-market) parts, preparing necessary reports. 
  • Maintains a file for each distributor/supplier and prepares adequate reports on them.
  • Establishes pricing parameters in each customer category to generate sufficient gross profit for a satisfactory overall profit while maintaining customer loyalty. 
  • Sets individual parts inventory levels and balances them for maximum turnover. 
  • Ensures parts inventory turns a profit throughout the year. 
  • Monitors and adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescence.
  • Ensure all parts are correctly tagged. Supervise stock order procedures. 
  • Establish and enforce a policy for special parts orders. 
  • Ensure that stock orders constitute a consistent percentage of all orders. 
  • Analyze monthly sales, expenses, and inventory to meet profit targets. 
  • Develop and implement a proactive wholesale parts program for profitability. 
  • Maintain consistent high-quality service for both internal and external customers.
  • Collaborate with service and body shop managers for timely parts delivery. 
  • Review and adjust operational procedures and storage layout for optimal efficiency. 
  • Offer technical support to parts section staff.
  • Coordinates an efficient and timely flow of paperwork. 
  • Reviews the periodic sale of spare parts for productivity and monitors daily reports. 
  • Utilizes a lost sales tracking report to reduce sales loss. 
  • Directs outside parts and counter sales efforts to maintain customer contact. Develops, enforces, and monitors guidelines for maximum customer satisfaction. 
  • Handles customer complaints promptly following Company guidelines. 
  • Ensures proper accounting of all purchases before payment. 
  • Enforces safety requirements, including forklift training, on all products. 
  • Complies with governmental rules and local regulations affecting parts sales. 
  • Continuously updates distributor/supplier records.

Bachelor degree in Engineering or any other related fieldAt least 7 years of experience in the automotive industry.Experience in Tires is mustExperience in the purchasing operation for spare parts & accessories.Experience in Parts Operation Management.Inventory Management.Very Good communication, negotiation and management skills.Very Goodcomputer skills (Excel is must).Very GoodAccounting and analytical skills.Very Good in following up and tracking orderds and problem-solving skills
