Role Summary/Purpose:

The Summer Cross Functional Internship intends to enroll current university students to work on projects with different teams and functions with the purpose to provide better customer experience. The intern will be working closely with the Operations functions and the Engineering department for a summer period of 5-6 months.
In this internship, the candidate will be able to grow their expertise in project management, continuous improvement, working in a global and cross functional environment, lead tasks and track resolution to meet deadlines, acquire technical knowledge and learn how to tackle issues effectively within Engineering.
The intern will also learn about different GE state of the art power generation products such as gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, etc.

Essential Responsibilities:

Participate in process improvement projects and lead tasks with different functions Work closely with the global Engineer team Support standardizing processes for Power Plant availability and Reliability improvement Own tasks, lead and track resolution to meet deadlines Collaborate with the local Operations team

Qualifications/Requirements:

Technical background: Electrical/Mechanical Engineering is preferred Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering discipline. Ability to communicate effectively and contribute to team projects Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint...) Knowledge of the power generation field. Proficient verbal and writing capability in English & French

Passionate about the Power Generation field Goacademic standing Good verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly raise ideas with others, explain technical terms Previous internships in the field of power generation is preferred Continuous improvement and critical thinking mindset Ability to work independently as well as in a cross functional environment
