Role: System Administrator (Remote) Location: Remote (Work from Anywhere) Job Type: Contract Payout: $25 - $50/hour
Role Overview:We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a System Administrator to work on a contract basis. The role involves managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, and supporting technical operations. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, maintenance, and security oversight for critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:• Maintain and administer cloud-based infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.• Monitor system performance and proactively address issues to minimize downtime.• Implement and enforce security best practices, including access controls and vulnerability assessments.• Automate routine tasks using scripting and configuration management tools.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and deploy updates.
Required Skills & Qualifications:• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is required.• Proficiency in Linux/Unix system administration and command-line operations is essential.• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs, is necessary.• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes is preferred.• Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving system and application issues.• Ability to write and maintain scripts in Bash, Python, or Power Shell for automation.• Understanding of IT security principles, including firewalls, encryption, and compliance standards.• Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus is a plus.
